Since 1916, the Omni William Penn has welcomed social, corporate, and political leaders from around the world, making it a premier event hotel. Clay Frick, one of the countries wealthiest industrialists, envisioned the William Penn as a showplace, designed to rival the great hotels of Europe in old-world style but with the sophisticated technology offered by the twentieth century. The wedding of Alyssa and Roger was certainly an example of the best this venue, and this city have to offer.

Wedding planner Alexis Maddox from Shayla Hawkins Events brought all the A-List professionals together to bring this vision to life including Joey Kennedy Photography, an incredible floral display by Mocha Rose Floral Designs and top national wedding entertainment, the Elite Show Band.

Filling the Grand Ballroom to capacity these two large families had come from far and wide. The father of the brides’ speech was a highlight and made clear how much this union was destined to be.

The family’s great love of big band music was apparent throughout the night. The Elite Show Band’s 15-piece orchestra, (7-piece horn section with 5 versatile singers), certainly filled the room and embodied the “Fly Me to the Moon” theme. The father/daughter specialty dance, for instance, was a custom medley of “Beauty and the Beast” (a favorite of the Bride) and a master class in swing dancing to Brian Setzer’s “Jump, Jive and Wail”. It was almost too much fun!

The large band’s versatility really shined playing hits from Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble to current hits by Cee Lo Green, Taio Cruz and everything in between. The dance floor just never stopped.

So how do you top a best-of-everything wedding like this? CONFETTI CANNONS! Just when you thought you couldn’t be having more fun the room explodes in gold and silver confetti. This A-list event will be a golden memory for everyone involved.

This will be the best money you spend on your wedding, because the Elite Show Band will make your wedding truly memorable for you and your guests! They take the time to understand your style and desires, and execute perfectly! We opted for the 11 piece band plus additional horns for a “big band hour” during dinner and they were beyond amazing! Their energy and enthusiasm are contagious, and they have a clear ability to read and engage the crowd. Nearly everyone, seriously, nearly everyone, questioned and commented to us about the “fantastic band” and “where did we find them!” After the fantastic performance during dinner, the dancing never stopped, and the various song selections kept the young and not-so-young on the dance floor the entire night. We so appreciated how easy they were to work with, how accommodating they were, and how helpful they were in planning for the logistics of that night. We loved Nina’s announcing voice, and it, along with the entire Band’s professionalism shined through. Their talents provided us the best possible gift – the memory of that magical night.
